My Jack Russel Terrier is 8yrs old . The vet says he is just loosing oxygen to his brain!! HE just started this falling down all the sudden and not moving this year after falling. Now when he falls on his side he is in PAIN and crys and his body jerks!
ISN’T THIS A SEIZUERE TYPE OF THING?
He was put on a kidney dog food diet and did have whip worms which are treated. He had the BAD dog food that went around. THIS DOG WAS A PERFECT HEALTHY DOG!!! I have had him for FOUR years and ALL THE SUDDEN BOOM!!!
The vet says if he is not loosing his bowels or urine then he is not having seizures? I can’t believe that for some reason..MY guts say that can’t be true! IS IT>? I have a lot of experience with animails of all sorts and have never seen one with something of this nature., I am taking him BACK to the vet and I have to challenge his answer about this . My heart and gut tells me there is MUCH more wrong than him getting to excited and loosing oxygen and its no big deal, not to worry?

Well I don’t know about dogs, but my friend has seizures quite often and never lost control of his bowels during one.

Yes this sounds like a seizure.
I was lucky and found a vet who new about seizures that is when my dog who had seizures was still alive. She died of one.
If vets were doctors they would have doctor so and so not vet so and so. Vets do not have the training for this I do not care who tells you different. If a vet has the knowledge of these it is not because of basic vet school!!
Get a second and third opinion if need be!! Keep your pooch on a normal schedule without to much exercise. I was stupid and got my girl spayed, she died a day or so later from a grand mal. I new better….most saddest part of this is my boy who has seizures found our beloved pet after she died. He had nightmares for months!
Even in people a person could all of a sudden have seizures, it could be from a accident, or in there blood line somewhere. I have seizures too, me and my son do not always loose our bowels. Our dog did not always either….

I have a 12 year old cocker spaniel and he has had seizures since he was 1 year old, they last anywhere from 5-10 minutes and he has never lost control of his bowel or kidneys…and he NEVER appears to be in pain…..he usually comes to find me when he starts to have one, he lays down…(doesn’t fall) and his whole body shakes, sometimes if he lays on his side, his legs are uncontrolled, I have to hold them, and his eyes bulge out….when he comes out of it….he drools alot and pants. also he makes no sound during the seizure, I think if I were you, I’d take my dog for a second opinion….Good Luck.

We had a boxer who started having seizures when he was about 7 years old. The vet said he probably had a brain tumor. At first, he didn’t lose control of his bowel or bladder, but as the seizures got worse, he began leaking a little urine. We medicated him for awhile, but in the end we knew his quality of life was pretty poor and we had to have him put down…We still miss him so much!
